Hey, I went to UVic with Corey.
bcs or bca what should i do?????????
It's strange that Americans call this electrical engineering. In Australia we call this electronic engineering, and electrical engineering is more the study of electrical energy ie: Power generation, distribution, transmission, electrical drives, motors, etc.
Here, in a book, there would be a difference, but when most people talk about it, they use the two terms synonymously
is it hard to get a job with this degree in California? planning on pursuing this career
It would probably be a little competitive because a lot of people in the tech industry flock to California, but at the same time with all the start ups in Silicon Valley you could possible get lucky
Is a degree in computer science or IT mean you should be a programming expert... I'm a on leave graduate in computer science (major) hope to do Masters in related area of IT or CS but I'm not interested in coding.. So is there any non-programming jobs available for CS graduates...
Very Helpful!
Computer engineering is worthless degree at a bachelor level because there is simply too much a computer engineer is suppose to know to be a good computer engineer and not everything can be covered at a undergrad level. I suggest only taking computer engineering if you can bear the pain of going to the graduate school and loosing out to EE and CS majors when it comes to jobs/internships at undergrad level.
I'd like to see proof....from what I have heard from current students, they are getting internships like candy so I have no what you are saying!
***** Well there maybe very few CE internships they they qualified for however many internships are usually just CS and EE. CE majors like me qualify for both EE jobs and CS jobs however end up losing out to candidates who have specialized education in EE and CS fields. Perhaps its is the area (I am in the Dallas/Forth worth area) or I simply suck but I was just sharing my experience. I personally feel that if you want to do computer engineering in the future, simply start as a EE major with concentration in digital circuits. Addition of classes like C programming and VLSI design will help you become a computer engineer without a formal computer engineer degree.
How?? While I do admit to not yet entering in to a computer engineering program, I have met at least 6 other CmpE students who were able to get at least one internship offer. And this is in a state where CmpEs aren't on the rise. Most were for software engineering, but they got them. My CS teacher told me that it depends alot on the school as well. Many CmpEs dont have depth in their program compared to others, from what I've heard. Don't you think that may have played a factor?
And isn't it kind of naive to judge a whole field based on one person's experience and call it worthless. There might be a number of factors at work.
I would also like to know what school you are attending as well as your G.P.A. That could be a contributing factor as well.
can a student who is studying I.T in high school apply for computer engineering
yes.
I love history and i read history books and watch documentries on history just because I like it, but even still i know there is no career in it and would never pursue it as a major its just somthing I do on my own time.
Yeah totally, I actually made the mistake of going to university for a History and Political Science degree. I believed in the whole spiel about 'do what you love'. Now I'm teaching my self programming to become a web developer to get a decent paying job. I'm not shitting on History though, it's just I feel it is not valued enough in society and you don't get respect. If you love it and don't mind the unstable job opportunities that's fine. But I really want to own a house and retire moderately early lol.
you look like chuck norris first thought ha
As a junior computer science student - don't do computer science if you hate math :-D computer science isn't all programming but that is probably the easiest way to express your ideas. Its more like puzzle solving. If you don't wanna do mathy/programmy stuff you could always do more of a higher level program like information technology. That would put you in more of a tech support/sysadmin sort of role. FYI: Most first year college level comp sci classes assume you can't program anyways.
I love Mia Crewe!!
do you have any websites to apply for internships? Also, do you recommend doing an internship during the summer before your freshman year in college?
System.out.printf("%s" , "Good luck! :D");
Norman Crewe you look like a legend!! Love Mia and Tom xxx
CS is fun it makes someone highly logical but at the same time requires creativity to come up with solutions
i guess they didnt test their camera mic
im a computer engineering major and im halfway there. im a junior at a university currently and i am always looking up the jobs that are available to this engineering field. i know alot of people go for this major so i was wondering if in the future will there always be job openings available.
am a senor in high school and want to take computer engineer as a major and one question i got is is there a job at google for this work?
Well, I recommend taking a computer science class and see how you like it. Computer and Electrical Engineering will also allow you to work with computers.
Hey man, coding isn't my thing either. However I consider myself computer savvy and wish to pursue a high-paying job with computers. I'm currently a junior in high school, how should I get started? What are some good computer degrees? I know nothing about coding (but i can learn), but I really want anything to do with a computer.
I guess I'm too late.. How are you doing? What did you study for university? I was going to recommend solo learn app
@@drioko Haha, I ended up studying Computer Information Systems and worked in Cybersecurity (Info Sec) as a penetration tester/red teamer instead. I know how to code simple scripts, but not full blown applications.
Yes! I ended up changing my major to Electrical Engineering, coding wasn't really my thing. Good luck. :)
hey Mann, now after 4 years you happy that you changed your major?
Seriously? Java? I'm in a high school AP CS class, and we're doing java.
@funnydayz don't give up! Get a tutor or something..
Guys , from your point of view ... CS or SE , yes I can start with SE at my university .
Lol, i wear my headset on my left ear without the right one , I only noticed after i read the top comment !!!
Dude if you are fuckin' stupid at math and science why did you go to computer science?? you trying to work in mcdonalds?
FUCKING STOOPID NIGGA
